Kelvin Walker
Kelvin, who matriculated in 1981, obtained his BA LLB Degree from the University of Natal in 1987. He served his articles at Thorpe and Hands and practiced as a professional assistant during the period 1990 to 1993. He was then appointed as a partner after which he became director of the company in 1994.

Richard Gerald Pearton
Richard matriculated at Northlands Boys High School in 1974. He then went on to study at the University of Natal, Durban, where he obtained BA and LLB degrees between 1975 and 1979. He worked as a public prosecutor in a regional court after serving in the military. He served his articles at Thorpe and Hands under Roy Phillips where he became a professional assistant and thereafter a director. Richard has been admitted to appear in the High Court and the Constitutional Court.

 Ashmika BudooRam  

Ms Budoo Ram is the newest member of the Thorpe and Hands family.  She matriculated in 2013 at a leading Durban high school and obtained her LL.B degree from the University of KwaZulu Natal in 2017. She has high hopes for her career in Law, and she intends on pursuing her short term goal of reading for an LL.M in Business Law in the year 2019. For leisure she enjoys indulging in fine food.

Gavin Ross Gow
Gavin Gow has practised as an attorney and conveyancer for 34 years. He attended to most of the necessary transactions in the conveyancing and property fields primarily, and in other general areas, such as commercial work. He was the first attorney to practise in Umhlanga. He founded “Gavin Gow Attorneys”, under which name he practised for 32 years, until he sold the practice a few years ago.

Robin Topping 

Robin Topping joined Thorpe & Hands Inc. in 2018 as an Associate, after having completing his articles
and practicing for two years at his previous firm. He attained his BA Degree from the University of
South Africa, whereafter he obtained his LL.B at the University of KwaZulu Natal in 2013. He has been
granted his Rights of Appearance in the High Court of South Africa, and regularly appears in various
higher and lower Courts dealing with a range of litigation matters.
